YourCelf · Safety & Content Takedown

If an intimate picture of you is being shared on YourCelf without your consent — or you are acting for someone it is happening to — this page tells you how to ask us to take it down, and exactly what we can and cannot reach.
You do not need to use YourCelf, and it does not have to be you in the picture: a parent, or anyone acting for the person, can ask. Email hello@beyourcelf.com with the subject “TAKE IT DOWN request”, and include:
If the person in the picture is under 18, do not send us the picture. Describe it and tell us where you saw it. Please also report it to NCMEC’s CyberTipline (below).
If they are 18 or over, you can attach the picture to the email. We act within 24 hours of receiving a request, every day of the week, and we write back either way. Inside the app, the same request is at Settings → Someone shared a picture of me.
YourCelf is a private, end-to-end encrypted way for families to share photos. There are no public links, no search, and no public galleries. A photo shared in a circle is sealed on the sender’s phone and opened only on the phones of the people in that circle.
Our relay passes those sealed blocks between phones. It cannot open them, and neither can we, so a picture on its own does not match anything we hold.
What we can do
What we cannot do
Open one of their posts, tap …, and choose Block. Your phone stops sealing anything to them, and anything they send you is dropped when it arrives. You can see and undo blocks in Settings → People you’ve blocked.
For a few seconds after you post, you can undo it, which pulls it back if it has not left your phone yet. After that it cannot be recalled: once a photo is on someone else’s phone, nobody can take it back, not you and not us.
Open Circles, tap the circle, and tap Leave at the bottom. It comes off your phone, nothing new from it shows up there, and your phone stops sending to it. If you made the circle, Delete this circle does the same on your phone.
The other members are not told: on their phones the circle carries on, and what you already posted stays with them. To stop one person reaching you anywhere in YourCelf, block them.
If you are dealing with non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) or sextortion, these services can hash your image so participating platforms can find and remove copies:
Operated by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Take It Down creates a unique hash from your device without uploading the image itself, helping platforms find and remove copies.
Operated by the Revenge Porn Helpline, StopNCII.org helps adults stop the non-consensual sharing of intimate images on participating platforms worldwide.
If content involves the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor, report it directly:
